Business Internet

You are unlikely to be able to run your business without decent internet access.

Some of the options we can provision for you are;

  • Lease Lines

Lease lines have a high bandwidth from 10mb - 10gb and are dedicated.  They are possibly the best economical solution for your business if you have large data transfer requirements or lots of staff needing to use the internet.  This is a very reliable, stable, secure option with 99.9% up time.

  • FTTC - Fibre To The Cabinet

This is a fast fibre broadband, using fibre optic cables.  This is suitable for most businesses as it is widely available and extremely efficient.  It works at great speeds for everyday business needs, with bandwidth of up to 80 mbps download and 20mbps upload.

  • Mobile Broadband

We can provision mobile broadband which is ideal for mobile and remote locations.  This requires a specialist router, but it means you can run a business from just about anywhere.  We can provide sims from Vodafone, O2 and EE on a rolling monthly basis or multi-network esims on an annual contract.

  • FTTP - Fibre To The Premises

We are starting to see FTTP become available for businesses.  Although this is not yet available in all areas it is 3x - 4x faster than FTTC and not much more expensive.

In most cases we can provide remote support for your business broadband router and where appropriate set up VPNs, VLANs, Port Forwarding and similar facilities to assist you when using your internet access to view CCTV cameras or getting remote access to your office PC.

Wireless Network for Business

Phoenix Link provides reliable indoor and outdoor wireless networks for schools, offices, hospitals, hotels etc. If your wireless network isn't delivering what you need (or you don't currently have a wireless network) then we would be very interested in meeting with you to discuss what benefits wireless can provide for you. Call 01227 200625 or email ask@telephoneskent.com

We use Ruckus wireless kit (including the market leading Ruckus Unleashed products) which we think is the best available for business as it consistently out performs Cisco , Meru etc. and it's more cost competitive. Ruckus is especially effective when there are a lot of conflicting wireless devices or users , when there are lots of different types of devices connecting simultaneously (PC , laptop , tablet , smart phone , CCTV etc.) , or when the network needs different configurations for different users.

Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi is WLAN Management-as-a-Service that enables enterprises with limited IT resources to easily set-up, monitor, and manage a high-performance WLAN of any size, (including multi site) without compromising on Wi-Fi performance.

Move faster, do more

Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi features an intuitive, intent-driven user interface that gives IT its day back. Simplified dashboards and alerts available on the desktop or mobile app.

"Good enough" is not good enough

It used to be that the convenience of cloud-managed WLAN came at a cost - that was "good enough" !! Wi-Fi that worked most of the time, if conditions were right. With Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi, you don't need to make that trade-off. You get the same AP feature and the same innovations-like BeamFlex+ and ChannelFly - that have made Ruckus the industry's performance leader.

Experience worry free scaling

Whether you're deploying a handful of APs or thousands, a single site to hundreds, Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi has you covered. Operating at true cloud scale, Cloud Wi-Fi lets you build and expand your network quickly and without hassle. Then it lets you manage the entire network no matter how large.

Investment protection-because stuff happens

Business isn't always predictable. Management changes. Policies change. With Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi, your WLAN can change, too. If you decide to shift WLAN management from the public cloud to your own local facilities or data center, your APs can be reconfigured - all of your APs will work with any Ruckus controller platform.

What distinguishes Ruckus Wireless Solutions?

Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi technology redefines what's possible in network performance with flexibility, reliability and affordability. They call it Pervasive Performance. It is a combination of innovative features needed to achieve the goal of delivering the most consistent and highest-speed wireless performance possible - anywhere, everywhere, all the time. The various components that are absolutely necessary to achieve this unprecedented level of wireless performance are:

  • Adaptive Signal Control Interference Mitigation
  • Capacity-driven Channel Assignment
  • Dynamic Polarization Diversity

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need a back up for my primary internet service?

Resiliency needs to be considered if your business is reliant on the internet.  Dependant on your primary internet service you have various options for your back up including FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) and 4G mobile(soon to be 5G). Some will automatically switch if your primary fails others will need to be manually configured  to provide the back up.  Some may also require a separate router.

What else should I consider for my business internet?

Reliability is a big factor for business customers. Having unreliable internet is stressful and counterproductive. At very least go for a business grade broadband connection with unlimited data transfer allowance per month and if you are in an industry that can’t risk internet service interruptions, it’s wise to consider a dedicated internet lease line which has an associated Service Level Agreement (SLA).

SLAs are service contracts that specifically state how reliable the connection should be. Customer Services goes hand-in-hand with reliability. Regardless of how good the connection is, something will one day go wrong. Whether it’s hardware failure, ISP service issues or a physically damaged line, it’s extremely likely there will be issues one day.

Good customer service is a measure of how fast they can help get you back up and running. Most businesses can’t wait several days for a problem to be resolved. They require a higher level of service and a good service provider understands that.

How do I know what internet speed my business will need?

When it comes to estimating the right internet speed for your business, there are two fundamental questions to consider:

The number of users in your organisation, and what they are using the internet for?

If you have just a handful of office-based staff using their connection for email and for browsing websites, you can probably get away with lower speeds. If you have a larger team - or employees who need to send and receive large files, join video or audio conferences, access cloud-based applications, back up data remotely or use hosted solutions you’ll need to consider services that provide a more robust connection like a dedicated internet lease line.

How can I check what broadband speed I can get?

Most areas now have FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) broadband available with speeds upto 80 mbps download and 20 mbps upload. With your address we can advise what speed ranges you are likely to enjoy and with your telephone number and address we can accurately predict the actual speed you are likely to get.
